Biba Plans To Launch New Kids Wear Stores

Online Fashion retailer Biba, is now planning to open a series of offline stores across India targeting Kids wear. This is the result it garnered from its kids' apparels in the recent past. As per reports it has targeted 60 stores for this year and scale up to 200 outlets in the next three years. It has set aside Rs 200 Crore for this.

The Bangalore Based Biba, had first launched the kids wear store in the year 2010 and buoyed by the success they are trying to expand the base. At these stores, they are planning to sell apparels for girls from 0- 13 years of age group.

Currently, Biba is selling its apparels at their exclusive stores and has tied up with all the major online e-commerce stores including Jabong, Amazon, and Myntra. Furthermore, it is also selling at several multi-brand retail stores.

The Lucrative Kids wear market is currently dominated by FirstCry and Mahindra Retail’s Babyoye which have their presence across India both as an online and offline store. Apart from these, we also have Pantaloon’s kids wear, led by Aditya Birla Group.

As per industry estimates, the Kids wear is a 75,000 Crore market and is growing at 15 percent per annum and is expected to double in the next five years.

Apart from marketing their own products, Biba is also having stakes at many designer wears including top designers like Manish Arora, and Anju Modi. It also has as separate Fashion Brand Rangriti at which it caters to the Tier II and Tier II cities.
