Jabong CEO Likely To Join Levi Strauss & Co
There seems to be another major change in the making for Jabong. Sanjeev Mohanty, the current CEO of Jabong, is said to be in talks with fashion giant Levi Strauss & Co and is mostly likely to head its Indian Operation, Indiatimes reported.
Denim-wear brand Levi Strauss was searching for a Managing director since the post had fallen vacant after its earlier Manging director Sanjay Purohit had quit the company.
Sanjeev Mohanty is credited to be the person who made a turnaround for Jabong; which was earlier reeling under loss. Sanjeev’s leadership had helped to cut down Jabong’s loss to 73%.
Jabong which is likely to be sold in next 6 months, is already in talks with leading e-commerce players including Flipkart and Snapdeal will be looking to accelerate the selling process to top gear.
If the rumors are to be believed, it will be a major blow to Jabong which is eagerly looking for a buyer. Any changes at this moment will severely hurt its chances of making the deal.
Sanjeev Mohanty had earlier worked as a director at Benetton India, for nearly 11 years. He has an impressive track record of working with many leading apparel brands in India in his career spanning over 20 years including; Arvind Lifestyle Brands, Madura Garments, and many others.
Although the change is yet to be confirmed by the respective parties, there seem to be all sorts of rumors that are floating around the industry. If at all he decides to leave Jabong, it is most likely to happen once the deal is finalized.
