Mobikwik Looks To Ramp Up Its Bus Ticket Booking Services
Online Recharge Company Mobikwik is now the newest entrant for Online Bus Booking industry. The ticket booking industry is currently handled as both organized and unorganized way might see a fierce competition among the new and the existing players.
Mobikwik, which until now was mainly focussed on online recharge including mobile recharge, DTH recharge etc has now decided to diversify their focus buoyed by the success they tasted on the Bus booking sector and have decided to ramp up this category by having this as a separate arm.
The Bus ticket industry has seen tremendous growth in the recent times with Major Player being the Redbus which recently had started their business in Latin American Market.
Mobikwik is currently making about 4000 bus booking per day and targets to scale up this to 25,000 bus tickets booking by the end of 2016. As a part of achieving this goal, they are now planning to include Cash pick up and partial payment facilities to lure the customers and the users can book the ticket using their online portal or with the mobile app.
The Bus Ticket booking industry is currently valued at 20,000 Crore and 15 percent of this happens only through online and is expected to grow at a steady rate.
Mobikwik has already tied up with several top online and offline brands for their payment portal would now focus on the bus travel booking agents to sell their new service. Its Rival Paytm is also having a foothold in this market and also might take a deep plunge by aggressively focus on this lucrative sector.
