Times of India has reported that Ecommerce Giant Flipkart, which had recently bought Jabong is now looking to aggressively make use of the fashion retail website by selling exclusive fashion items to its customers.

As a part of this strategy, it has secured exclusive licensing from many top brands like Provouge, Carlton London, and Swiss Military. This enables them to have a better control over the price range of the products.

Apart from this, they also plan to re-launch their Private label brand to provide better variety to the customers. This Brand will be only available on their website and would be linked to their newly started Flipkart-Assured.

Furthermore, Flipkart is also trying to dominate the Footwear market, at which it is having more than 45 percent of online market share.

All these improvements are being done at a rapid pace because of the festive season, Diwali is round the corner and every online retailer including Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon have their task cut out to make maximum utilization of the festival season sale.

Flipkart’s Rival Amazon on the other hand, interestingly, has not made any major announcements or changes in the recent times and is playing the card close to its chest and might strike at the right time.

Lastly, the customers can also expect much more such changes and announcements from all the leading e-commerce players once the new entrant Paytm will be officially launched during Diwali.
